From Leiden Central Station, take a train towards Amsterdam Centraal. The journey takes about 35 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Centraal, follow the signs to the exit. From the train platform, exit the station and walk towards the bus/tram terminal.

At the Amsterdam Centraal station, board tram line 2 (towards Nieuwmarkt) or tram line 12 (towards Amstelstation). Stay on the tram for 8 stops. Get off at the Van Baerlestraat stop. From there, walk straight down Van Baerlestraat, which will lead you directly to the Rijksmuseum at Museumstraat 1.
