Walking
From the city center of Leiden, head towards the main train station (Leiden Centraal). Exit the station and walk straight down the Beestenmarkt street. Continue walking until you reach the crossroads at the Breestraat. Turn right onto Breestraat and walk straight until you reach the bridge at the end of the street. Cross the bridge and continue straight until you reach the main square (Markt). From there, look for signs directing you to the bus station. You can take a bus to Amsterdam, which will take approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival in Amsterdam, follow the signs to the Singel canal.
Public Transport
Start at Leiden Centraal station. Purchase a ticket to Amsterdam at the ticket counter or use the ticket machines available in the station. Take a direct train to Amsterdam Centraal, which runs frequently, approximately every 15-20 minutes. The train journey takes about 35 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Centraal, exit the station and head towards the front where you will see the canals. Walk towards the left along the waterfront, and you will reach the Singel canal within a 10-minute walk.
