Walking
If you're starting from the city center of Leiden, make your way to the Leiden Central Station. From the station, head east on Stationsweg. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Breestraat. Turn right on Breestraat and walk until you reach the Beestenmarkt. Here, turn left onto the Turfmarkt and follow it as it curves right. You will reach the Oude Singel canal. Continue walking along the canal, and you will find the bridge known as the 'Magere Brug' shortly after.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops near the city center of Leiden. Start at the Beestenmarkt and head east on the Turfmarkt, which leads you to the Oude Singel canal. Cycle along the canal until you come to the intersection with the Magere Brug. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes, depending on your speed.
Public Transport
To get to the Magere Brug from Leiden using public transport, first take a train from Leiden Central Station to Amsterdam Central Station. The train ride takes approximately 35 minutes. Once in Amsterdam, exit the station and take tram line 14 towards Zevenlandenhuizen. Get off at the 'Mr. Visserplein' stop. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to the Magere Brug. Head east on Mr. Visserplein, then turn left onto the Amstel River. Follow the river until you see the bridge.
