Walking
From the city center of Leiden, head towards the main train station (Leiden Centraal). Once at the station, take a train to Amsterdam Centraal. The train ride takes about 35 minutes. Upon arriving at Amsterdam Centraal, exit the station and turn left. Walk along the Prins Hendrikkade street until you reach the first major intersection. Turn right onto the Damrak, which will lead you directly to the Dam Square. From Dam Square, walk towards the Spui square, which is a short 10-minute walk straight from the square. You will find Spui, a vibrant square surrounded by cafes and shops.
Public Transport
Start your journey at Leiden Centraal station. Purchase a train ticket to Amsterdam Centraal. After about 35 minutes, you will arrive at Amsterdam Centraal. From there, take tram line 4, 14, or 24 from the tram stop right outside the train station. Get off at the Spui stop. Once you get off, you will find yourself in the Spui square, which features various shops and cafes.
