Public Transport
From Leiden Central Station, take a direct train towards Amsterdam Central Station. The journey takes approximately 35 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Central Station, follow the signs to the tram station located outside the main entrance. Take tram line 2 in the direction of 'Amsterdam, Nieuwmarkt'. Stay on the tram for about 20 minutes until you reach the 'Museumplein' stop. From there, it's a short walk to the Stedelijk Museum; just head towards the large park area where you'll see the museum on your right.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike in Leiden and follow the cycling path towards Amsterdam. The route is approximately 40 km and will take you about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace. Follow the signs to Amsterdam and once you arrive, navigate towards 'Museumplein' using a bike map or GPS. Upon reaching the park, park your bike and walk towards the Stedelijk Museum, which will be clearly visible.
Walking
Walking from Leiden to Amsterdam is quite a long journey (approximately 40 km) and not recommended for most tourists. However, if you are up for the challenge, start from Leiden's city center. Head towards the main roads leading out of the city, following signs toward Amsterdam. It will take around 8 to 10 hours of walking. Once you reach Amsterdam, navigate to the 'Museumplein' area, where you will find the Stedelijk Museum.
