Getting There

Walking
From the center of Leiden, head towards the Leiden Central Station (Leiden Centraal). Once there, take a train to Amsterdam Centraal. The train ride takes about 35 minutes. After arriving at Amsterdam Centraal, exit the station and head to the bus or tram stop located just outside the station. You can take tram line 2 towards 'Zuid' and get off at the stop 'Van Baerlestraat/Museumplein'. From there, it’s a short walk to the Van Gogh Museum, which is located at Museumplein 6.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike in Leiden and head towards Amsterdam. The route is approximately 35 kilometers and takes around 1.5 hours. Follow the signs towards Amsterdam on the N206 road, which will lead to the A4. Once you reach Amsterdam, continue towards the city center. Once you arrive at Museumplein, park your bicycle in the designated bike parking area, and the Van Gogh Museum will be right in front of you.
