Getting There

Bicycle

If you are in the center of Leiden, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops. Start at the Beestenmarkt, head south on the Breestraat until you reach the intersection with the Witte Singel. Turn right and follow the Witte Singel until you reach the junction with the Rijn. Continue straight until you reach the Rijnsburgerweg. Follow this road, which will take you towards Amsterdam. After about 35 km, keep an eye out for signs directing you to Vondelpark as you approach Amsterdam. Once in Amsterdam, navigate to the park using local maps or apps.
Train

From Leiden Centraal Station, purchase a ticket to Amsterdam Zuid station. The train journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Zuid, exit the station and head towards the bus or tram stops. Take tram number 5 towards Amstelveen and get off at the Vondelpark stop. From there, it’s a short walk to the park entrance.
Bus

If you prefer, you can take a bus from Leiden to Amsterdam. Head to the Leiden bus station and catch the FlixBus or another intercity bus heading to Amsterdam. The journey will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Amsterdam central bus station, you can take tram line 1 or 2 towards Zuid and get off at the Vondelpark stop. Follow the signs to the park entrance.
Walking

Walking from Leiden to Amsterdam is quite a long trek, approximately 40 km. If you're feeling adventurous, start from the center of Leiden and head towards the N11 road.
