Walking
From the center of Leiden, start at the Leiden Central Station. Exit the station and head north towards the Beestenmarkt square. Walk straight until you reach the Breestraat street. Turn left onto Breestraat, and continue until you reach the intersection with the Nieuwe Rijn. Turn right onto Nieuwe Rijn and walk until you reach the junction with the Hooigracht. Continue straight until you see the large canal on your left. Cross the bridge over the Hooigracht, and you will find yourself in the vicinity of the Bantammerbrug, which is located in Amsterdam. Note that this is a significant walk, so be prepared for a lengthy journey.
Bicycle
Rent a bike from one of the many rental shops in Leiden, such as 'Fietsenwinkel Leiden'. Start from the shop and head towards the main road, then take the N206 towards Amsterdam. Follow the signs for Amsterdam, passing through the scenic countryside. Once you reach the outskirts of Amsterdam, follow signs to the city center. As you approach the city, navigate towards the area of Amsterdam-Centrum where Bantammerbrug is located. Park your bike at a nearby bike rack.
Train
From Leiden Central Station, purchase a train ticket to Amsterdam Central Station. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Central Station, exit the train station and head west towards the Damrak. Walk straight until you reach Dam Square. From there, head south on Rokin street, then turn left onto the first street which leads to the Bantammerbrug area. It’s a short walk from Dam Square, approximately 10 minutes.
