Walking
From the city center of Leiden, head east towards the Vismarkt. Walk along the Breestraat until you reach the crossroads with the Haarlemmerstraat. Continue straight onto the Haarlemmerstraat and follow it until you reach the train station, Leiden Centraal. Once at the station, purchase a ticket to Muiden (which is usually around 30-45 minutes away). Board the train and enjoy the scenic ride. Once you arrive at Muiden station, exit and follow the signs to the main road. Muiden is a short walk from the station; just head south on the N236 road until you reach the center of Muiden.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle in Leiden. Start from the city center and head towards the Breestraat, continuing to the Haarlemmerstraat. Follow the same route towards Leiden Centraal, but instead of taking the train, cycle along the N206 towards Muiden. The ride is approximately 12 kilometers and takes about 40-50 minutes. Upon reaching Muiden, park your bicycle in the designated areas and explore the town.
Public Transport (Bus)
From the central area of Leiden, walk to the nearest bus stop at the station. Look for bus line 50 or 51 heading towards Muiden. The bus journey takes around 30-40 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance as services may vary. Once you arrive in Muiden, disembark at the main stop in the town center and you will be close to various attractions.
