From Leiden Central Station, take bus line 50 towards Amsterdam. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the 'Amstelveenseweg' stop. From there, walk towards the Olympic Stadium for about 15 minutes. Head southeast on Amstelveenseweg, then turn right onto Olympisch Stadion.
Train and Tram
From Leiden Central Station, take a train to Amsterdam Zuid Station. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Zuid, transfer to tram line 5 towards Amstelveen. Ride the tram for 5 stops and get off at the 'Zuid' stop. From there, walk for about 10 minutes towards Olympisch Stadion; follow the signs or use a map app to navigate.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in Leiden. From the city center, head towards the Oegstgeest area and follow the signs to the N206 road. Continue on this road, which will lead you to Amsterdam. Once you reach Amsterdam, follow the signs to Olympisch Stadion, which is located in the Amsterdam-Zuid area. The total distance is about 35 km, which can take approximately 1.5 hours.
Walking
While walking from Leiden to the Olympic Stadium is quite a long trek (around 35 km), you can enjoy a scenic route. Start from the Leiden city center and head north towards Oegstgeest. Follow the paths that lead to the banks of the Old Rhine River, then continue towards Amsterdam following the riverbank. Once you reach Amsterdam, navigate to Olympisch Stadion through the local streets, which will take around 7 hours. This is ideal for the adventurous traveler!
