Walking
From the center of Leiden, head north towards the train station (Leiden Centraal). Once at the station, take a train to Amsterdam Centraal. The journey takes approximately 35 minutes. After arriving at Amsterdam Centraal, exit the station and head towards the east exit. Once you are outside, walk straight towards the Damrak, which will take you to the main street. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with the Rokin. Thorbeckeplein will be located on your left, just a short walk from the Rokin.
Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, rent a bike from one of the bike rental shops in Leiden. Head north on the Nieuwe Rijn towards the N206 road. Follow the signs for Amsterdam, which will lead you to the A44 highway. Continue on the A44, which will merge into the A1. Follow the signs to Amsterdam and exit at the A10 ring road. Follow the signs for Centrum and then head towards the Rokin. Thorbeckeplein will be on your left. The whole journey takes around 45-60 minutes, depending on your cycling speed.
Public Transport
Start at the nearest bus or tram stop in Leiden. Take bus line 43 or tram line 20 towards Amsterdam. Make sure to check the schedule for the exact times. Get off at the Amsterdam Centraal stop. From there, walk towards the east exit of the station, then straight towards Damrak. Continue straight until you reach Rokin, and Thorbeckeplein will be to your left, just a few minutes away.
