Getting There

  • Walking

    From the central square in Maastricht, Vrijthof, start by heading east towards the Markt. Continue straight onto Wijckerweg, then take a left onto Spoorweglaan. Follow this road until you reach the train station, Maastricht Station. From the station, take the train towards Valkenburg (approximately 10 minutes). Upon arrival at Valkenburg Station, exit the station and head towards the main road (Cauberg) by taking a right. Follow Cauberg for about 10 minutes, and you will see the entrance to Gemeentegrot on your left.

    Rent a bicycle from one of the bike rental shops in Maastricht. Start from the city center and cycle towards the riverside. Follow the path along the Maas river until you reach the cycling path towards Valkenburg. Continue cycling for about 15-20 minutes in the direction of Valkenburg. Once you reach the town, follow the signs for Gemeentegrot, which is located on Cauberg.
