Walking
If you are near the central train station, Nijmegen Centraal, exit the station and head south on Stationsplein. Continue straight onto Goffertweg, which becomes Waalkade. Follow the path along the Waal River for approximately 1 km. You will see the beautiful views of the river and the city. Along the way, you will pass cafes and parks. Keep walking until you reach the city center where you will find a vibrant area filled with shops and restaurants.
Bus
From Nijmegen Centraal, you can take bus line 5 towards 'Beekhuizen'. Board the bus and disembark at the 'Houtstraat' stop, which is only a few minutes away. Once you get off, walk a short distance to your left and you will arrive in the heart of Nijmegen-Centrum where you can explore the shops, restaurants, and historical sites.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the many rental spots near Nijmegen Centraal. Head south on the bike path along the Waal River, following the same route as the walking guidance. It's about a 10-minute ride. Once you get closer to the city center, you will find designated bike parking areas where you can secure your bike before exploring the area on foot.
Tram
Currently, there are no tram services directly in Nijmegen, but you can take a tram from nearby cities if you are staying outside Nijmegen. If you arrive by tram, make sure to get off at the final stop and follow the walking directions to the city center. It’s a straightforward walk of about 15 minutes.
