If you're starting from Nijmegen Central Station, exit the station and head southeast on Stationsplein toward Ruyterstraat. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Waalkade. Turn left onto Waalkade and follow it along the river for about 1.5 kilometers. This scenic route will take you past beautiful views of the Waal River. Keep walking until you reach the Ooijpoort area. Waalstrandje is located near Ooijpoort, which you will see on your left. You can take a short detour to enjoy the beach area.

For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from various rental shops around Nijmegen. Start at the main city center and head towards Waalkade. Follow the same route as walking, but on a bike, it will take you approximately 10 minutes to reach Waalstrandje. The bike path along the river is well-marked and offers a pleasant ride with lovely views. You will arrive at Waalstrandje, located just past the Ooijpoort.

Take bus number 5 from Nijmegen Central Station. Board the bus in the direction of 'Ooij' and get off at the stop named 'Ooijpoort'. From the bus stop, walk down Ooijpoort street towards the river. Waalstrandje is located a short walk away from the bus stop, just follow the signs pointing towards the river. This option is convenient and will get you to Waalstrandje in about 20 minutes including waiting time for the bus.
