Car
If you are traveling by car, you can set your GPS to 'Dam, 1012 JL Amsterdam'. From Rijnmond, take the A15 highway towards Rotterdam. Merge onto the A20 towards Gouda and then take the A4 towards Amsterdam. Follow signs for the A10 ring road and take exit S114 towards Centrum. Follow the signs for 'Dam' and park at one of the nearby parking garages such as 'Q-Park Dam' or 'Parkeergarage De Kolk'. Be aware that parking fees apply, which can range from €4 to €6 per hour.
Public Transportation
To reach the National Monument by public transport, start by taking a train from Rijnmond to Amsterdam Central Station. You can check the NS (Dutch Railways) website or app for the schedule. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Central Station, exit the station and head towards Dam Square, which is about a 10-minute walk (800 meters). As you walk out of the station, turn right and follow the signs to Dam Square. The National Monument is located right in the center of the square. Note that train tickets typically cost around €10-€15 depending on your departure point.
