Public Transport
From Utrecht Central Station, take the NS train towards Amsterdam Central Station. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Central Station, transfer to the GVB bus line 35 (direction Buikslotermeer). Get off at the 'Waterland' stop. From there, it's a short walk to the Waterland area.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Utrecht. Head north on the 'Maliebaan' road, then follow the signs to the N230 highway. Cycle towards Amsterdam, and take the 'Amsterdam-Noord' exit. Continue on the cycle paths until you reach Waterland. The journey will take about 40-50 minutes depending on your pace.
Walking
Walking to Waterland from Utrecht is quite a long journey, so it's not recommended unless you're up for a long hike. However, if you prefer, you can walk to the nearest train station, Utrecht Vaartsche Rijn, which is about a 20-minute walk from the city center, then take a train to Amsterdam Central and follow the public transport instructions from there.
