If you're driving to Haarlemmerpoort from anywhere in Zaanse Schans, start by heading southwest on the Zaanse Schans road (Zaanse Schansweg) towards the A8 highway. Merge onto the A8 and continue for about 8 kilometers. Take exit 3 towards Amsterdam-Centrum. Keep following signs for Centrum and merge onto the S116. Follow the S116 until it turns into the Haarlemmerweg. Continue straight until you reach Haarlemmerplein. Haarlemmerpoort is located at Haarlemmerplein 50, 1013 HS Amsterdam. Look for parking options nearby as street parking may be limited.

To reach Haarlemmerpoort using public transportation, start by taking the bus from Zaanse Schans. Board Bus 391 towards Amsterdam, which will take you directly to Amsterdam Centraal Station. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Amsterdam Centraal, exit the station and walk towards the IJ. From there, you can take Tram 13 or Tram 17 from the nearby tram stop.
