If you are driving, start from the Zaanse Schans Visitor Center. Head south on Zaanse Schans towards the N8 road. Merge onto N8 and follow the signs for Amsterdam. After approximately 20 minutes of driving, take the exit toward S116 and merge onto S116. Continue straight and follow signs for Amsterdam-Centrum. After about 10 minutes, you will arrive at the Magere Brug, located along the Amstel River.
Public Transportation
To reach Magere Brug via public transportation, start at the Zaanse Schans bus stop. Take bus line 391 in the direction of Amsterdam. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Amsterdam, Rembrandtplein' stop. From there, walk south to the Amstel River, and you will see the Magere Brug just a short 10-minute walk away. Follow the riverside path for beautiful views along the way.
Walking
If you prefer to walk from Zaanse Schans to Magere Brug, start at the Zaanse Schans Visitor Center. Head south towards the N8 road and continue straight until you reach the main road. Turn right onto the N8 and follow the road for about 1.5 kilometers. Then, turn left onto S116 and continue until you reach the Amstel River. The Magere Brug will be on your right, approximately a 30-40 minute walk depending on your pace, and you'll enjoy scenic views along the route.
