    From Zaanse Schans, head southwest on Zaanse Schansweg towards N248. Continue on N248 for about 9 km. Merge onto A8 highway and follow signs for Amsterdam. After approximately 12 km, take exit 1 towards Amsterdam-Centrum. Continue onto S100, which will take you to the city center. Follow signs for Thorbeckeplein.     Start at the Zaanse Schans bus stop. Take bus line 391 towards Amsterdam, which will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Amsterdam, Centraal Station stop. From there, you can walk to Thorbeckeplein by heading southeast on Prins Hendrikkade, then turn left onto Damstraat, continuing straight until you reach Thorbeckeplein. The total walking distance from Centraal Station is about 1 km.
