For those using public transportation, take a train to Zaandam station. From Amsterdam, trains run frequently and the journey takes about 20 minutes. Upon arrival at Zaandam station, exit the station and head south towards the city center. Once you reach the main road (Westerstraat), turn left and walk straight until you reach Hanenpadsloot. The Hanenpad lock is at the end of this street. The walk should take approximately 15-20 minutes.

Alternatively, you can take a bus to reach Hanenpad lock. From Zaandam train station, board bus number 64 towards 'Krommenie'. Get off at the 'Hanenpad' stop.
