Walking
If you are in downtown Carson City, head east on W 3rd St toward S Curry St. Continue walking until you reach S Carson St (approximately 0.5 miles). Turn left onto S Carson St and walk north for about 0.2 miles until you reach E William St. Turn right onto E William St and walk for another 0.2 miles until you reach NV-341 (also known as Virginia City Highway). Follow NV-341 for approximately 12 miles, enjoying the scenic views along the way. Upon entering Virginia City, continue straight until you reach S D St. Turn left onto S D St, and Mackay Mansion Museum will be on your right at 291 S D St.

From downtown Carson City, head to the nearest bus stop located at the intersection of W 3rd St and S Carson St. Board the RTC bus that heads to Virginia City (make sure to check the RTC schedule for the exact bus number and times). The bus ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Virginia City, disembark at the nearest stop and walk towards S D St. Mackay Mansion Museum is located at 291 S D St, just a short walk away from the bus stop.
