Getting There

• Walking

  To reach Rubicon Peak from downtown Carson City, start by heading southwest on E Musser St toward S Carson St. Continue straight until you reach S Carson St, then turn left. Walk along S Carson St until you reach the intersection with E Washington St, where you will take a right turn. Follow E Washington St until it merges into US-50 W. Keep walking on US-50 W, and you'll eventually reach the trailhead for Rubicon Peak. The hike to the peak is approximately 6 miles, and once you reach the trail, follow the signs to the summit.

• Bicycle

  If you're biking from downtown Carson City to Rubicon Peak, start on E Musser St heading southwest. Turn left onto S Carson St, then right onto E Washington St. This road will take you out of the city onto US-50 W. Continue biking west on US-50 W until you reach the trailhead for Rubicon Peak. Be cautious, as this route includes sections with vehicle traffic. The biking distance to the trailhead will be around 6 miles, so be prepared for the ride.

• Public Transit

  To get to Rubicon Peak using public transportation, take the local bus service from downtown Carson City. Board the bus at the nearest stop on E Musser St. You will need to check the local bus schedule for the routes that head towards Lake Tahoe. Disembark at the nearest stop to US-50 W, and then follow the walking directions to the trailhead for Rubicon Peak. Make sure to plan your trip ahead of time as bus schedules may vary.
