Car
If you're starting from Reno, NV, take US-395 N from Reno. After about 75 miles, merge onto NV-447 N towards Gerlach. Continue on NV-447 for approximately 90 miles. Once you reach Gerlach, NV, follow local signs to the Fly Ranch Geyser, which is located just north of Gerlach and is accessible via a dirt road. Note that a high-clearance vehicle is recommended for the last few miles. The geyser is located at coordinates 40.8594506, -119.3318711.
Public Transportation + Car
From Reno, take a Greyhound bus to Gerlach. The bus schedule may not be frequent, so check ahead for availability. Once in Gerlach, you will need to rent a car or arrange for a local taxi service to reach Fly Ranch Geyser. It's about 10-15 minutes north of Gerlach by car. Make sure to confirm any local taxi services in advance as they may not be readily available.
Biking
For the more adventurous, you can bike from Gerlach to Fly Ranch Geyser. The distance is approximately 7 miles north of Gerlach. The terrain is a mix of dirt roads and some gravel, so a mountain bike is recommended. Be prepared for changing weather conditions and carry plenty of water, as desert conditions can be harsh.
Walking
If you're already in Gerlach and looking for a walk, you can hike to the geyser. However, this is not recommended due to the distance (about 7 miles each way) and the terrain. If you choose to walk, ensure you have proper hiking gear, plenty of water, and check the weather conditions beforehand.
