From anywhere in Douglas County, head towards US-395 N. Depending on your starting point, you might need to take local roads to reach US-395. Once on US-395 N, continue for approximately 25 miles. Take the exit for CA-89 N towards South Lake Tahoe. After about 8 miles on CA-89, turn right onto W Lake Blvd. Continue on W Lake Blvd for about 1 mile, and you will find Gatekeeper's Museum at 130 W Lake Blvd, Tahoe City, CA 96145. There is no parking fee at the museum.
Public Transportation
If using public transportation, take the Douglas County Transit bus that operates to South Lake Tahoe. Once you reach South Lake Tahoe, transfer to the BlueGO bus service which travels to Tahoe City. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance as they can vary.
