    From South Lake Tahoe, head southeast on US-50 E towards Stateline. After approximately 3.5 miles, take a left onto CA-89 S. Continue on CA-89 S for about 4 miles. Look for signs for Fallen Leaf Lake, and take a left onto Fallen Leaf Lake Road (note: this road may be unpaved in parts). Follow this road for about 1.5 miles until you reach the parking area for Fallen Leaf Lake. Note that parking may require a fee, typically around $5-$10 depending on the season.

  • Public Transportation

    If you are using public transportation, start at the South Lake Tahoe transit center. Take the Blue Go shuttle service (Route 50) that heads towards Stateline. Disembark at the stop closest to the intersection of US-50 and CA-89 S. From there, you will need to walk approximately 0.5 miles south on CA-89 until you can reach Fallen Leaf Lake Road. Follow Fallen Leaf Lake Road for about 1.5 miles to the parking area. Please check the current shuttle schedule, as services may vary by season.
