Car
If you're driving from Las Vegas, take US-95 North and merge onto NV-157 (Mount Charleston). Follow NV-157 for about 20 miles until you reach the South Loop Road. Turn left onto South Loop Road and continue for a few miles. Look for the Echo Overlook Trailhead, which is marked and located on your right. There is a small parking area available, but it can fill up quickly during weekends and holidays. Make sure to check for any parking fees, which are typically around $10.
Public Transportation + Hiking
Take the RTC bus route 201 from the Las Vegas Strip towards the Summerlin area. Get off at the stop closest to NV-157, which may require some walking. From there, you will need to hike approximately 2-3 miles along the South Loop Road to reach the Echo Overlook Trailhead. Be prepared for a moderate uphill hike, and ensure you have proper hiking gear and plenty of water. Check RTC’s website for the latest bus schedules and fares, which are typically around $2 for a single ride.
Bicycle
For the adventurous, cycling to Echo Overlook is an option. Rent a bicycle in Las Vegas and head towards Mount Charleston via NV-157. Be aware that this route is steep and can be challenging, so ensure you are in good physical condition. There are no dedicated bike lanes, so exercise caution while on the road. Once you reach South Loop Road, follow the signs to the Echo Overlook Trailhead. Make sure to wear a helmet and bring a bike lock for when you arrive.
