Public Bus
From downtown Reno, head to the RTC Transit Center located at 4th St & Virginia St. Take the Route 19 bus towards Kings Beach. Stay on the bus for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, and disembark at the Kings Beach stop. From there, it's a short 10-minute walk to Bear St, where you will find the Kings Beach State Recreation Area.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Reno. Start at the Reno Riverwalk and head north on the bike path that follows the Truckee River. Continue towards Lake Tahoe, which will take about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Follow the signs to Kings Beach, and once you arrive, make your way to Bear St to reach the recreation area.
Walking
Walking is not recommended due to the distance (approximately 40 miles) from central Reno to Kings Beach. However, if you are determined, head north on Virginia St until you reach the intersection with 80 E. From there, follow the pedestrian paths leading towards Lake Tahoe. It will take several hours to reach your destination, so be prepared with water and snacks.
