Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest town, Elko, NV. Head south on I-80 E for approximately 37 miles. Take exit 292 for US-93 S toward Twin Falls. Continue on US-93 S for about 45 miles, then turn left onto NV-229 S. Follow NV-229 S for approximately 29 miles until you reach Ruby Valley. From there, follow the signs to Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge is located at Ruby Valley, NV 89833.

• Public Transportation

  For those relying on public transportation, take a Greyhound bus or a local shuttle to Elko, NV. From Elko, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge, as there is no direct public transport to the refuge. The approximate distance from Elko to Ruby Lake is about 71 miles, so be prepared for a cost of around $100-$150 for the taxi service.

• Bicycle
