Getting There

  • Bus

    From Sparks, head to the nearest bus stop on Victorian Ave. Take the RTC Bus Route 12 towards the Reno-Sparks area. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes until you reach the Virginia City stop. Once you get off, walk towards D St, which is approximately a 5-minute walk uphill. Follow D St until you reach 565 D St, where Chollar Mansion is located.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer biking, rent a bike from a local rental shop in Sparks. Start by heading south on Pyramid Way. Follow Pyramid Way until you reach the intersection with McCarran Blvd. Turn left onto McCarran Blvd and continue until you find the signs for Virginia City. The ride takes about 45 minutes, and you will enjoy scenic views. Once you get into Virginia City, navigate to D St; Chollar Mansion will be on your left at 565 D St.

  • Walking

    If you are up for a long walk, start from the center of Sparks, near the Nugget Casino. Head south on Victorian Ave toward Pyramid Way. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with McCarran Blvd. From there, you can follow the pedestrian path towards Virginia City. The total walk is approximately 11 miles and will take around 3.5 hours, so wear comfortable shoes. Once you reach Virginia City, follow the signs to D St, and Chollar Mansion will be located at 565 D St.
