    Public Bus

    To reach Kings Beach State Recreation Area from Sparks, you can take the RTC public bus service. First, head to the RTC bus stop closest to you. If you're at the RTC 4th Street Station, take the Route 2 bus towards the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. Once you arrive at the airport, transfer to the Route 19 bus heading towards Kings Beach. The bus will take you directly to Kings Beach. Be sure to check the RTC website for the latest schedule and fare information.

    Bicycle

    If you're feeling adventurous, you can bike to Kings Beach State Recreation Area. Start by heading west on E 4th St towards N Virginia St. Continue north on Virginia St until you reach I-80. Follow the bike path along the Truckee River, which will lead you towards Lake Tahoe. Once you reach the lake, follow the shoreline until you arrive at Kings Beach. This scenic route will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace.

    Walking

    Walking to Kings Beach from Sparks is quite a trek, but if you're up for it, you can start at the Sparks Marina Park. From the park, head south on N McCarran Blvd until you reach S Virginia St. Continue walking south until you reach the intersection of W 4th St and S Virginia St. From there, head towards I-80 and follow the pedestrian pathways until you reach Kings Beach. This walk is around 10 miles and may take about 3 to 4 hours, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring some water!
