Getting There

  • Bus

    From Sparks, head to the nearest bus stop and take the RTC Ride bus Route 11 towards Virginia City. The bus will take you along the scenic route. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the Virginia City stop. Once you disembark, walk south on Main Street towards C Street. The Virginia City Visitor Center is located at 86 S C St, just a short 5-minute walk from the bus stop.

  • Bicycle

    If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Sparks. Head towards the Pyramid Highway and take the bike lane north. Continue until you reach the intersection with NV-341. Follow NV-341, which leads into Virginia City. The ride is approximately 10 miles and will take about an hour. Once you arrive in Virginia City, head south on S C St for about 0.5 miles, and you will find the Virginia City Visitor Center at 86 S C St.

  • Walking

    If you prefer to walk, start from the Sparks Marina Park. Head south on Marina Drive, then take a right on East 4th St. Walk along East 4th St until you reach the intersection with Pyramid Way. Cross over to the bus stop and take the RTC Ride bus Route 11 towards Virginia City. Follow the bus directions above for a quick journey to the Visitor Center. This option combines walking and public transit.
