Car
From Reno, head south on US-395 S. Continue on US-395 S for approximately 30 miles. Merge onto NV-431 W towards Mount Rose Highway and follow it until you reach Lake Tahoe. Follow the signs to US-50 E towards South Lake Tahoe. Continue on US-50 E for about 18 miles. You will see signs for Cave Rock State Park as you approach Glenbrook. Take the exit for Cave Rock State Park, which is located directly off of Hwy 50. The park entrance will be on your right.
Public Transportation
Take a regional bus from Reno to South Lake Tahoe. The bus service typically operates once a day and may require a transfer. Get off at the South Lake Tahoe stop and then use a taxi or rideshare service to reach Cave Rock State Park, which is about 12 miles away from the bus stop. Be aware that public transportation options may be limited, and you should check the current schedule for availability.
Bicycle
For the adventurous, you can bike from South Lake Tahoe to Cave Rock State Park. Start at the South Lake Tahoe city center and take Lake Tahoe Boulevard (US-50) east. The ride is approximately 12 miles and mostly flat, but be cautious of traffic, especially near the park entrance. Ensure you wear a helmet and bring water for the ride.
