Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the main town of Lifou, known as Wé. Head south on the main road (Route de l'Aéroport) towards the southern part of the island. Continue on this road for approximately 20 km until you reach the sign for Santal Bay. Turn left onto the road leading to Santal Bay, and follow this road for another 5 km. You will find Jinek Bay on your right, with parking available near the beach.
Public Transportation
To reach Jinek Bay via public transportation, take the local minibus (also known as 'taxi collectif') from Wé. These minibuses run regularly throughout the day and can be found at the central bus stop in Wé. Inform the driver that you wish to go to Santal Bay. The fare is typically around 200 XPF (Pacific Francs). Once you arrive at Santal Bay, it’s a short walk of about 500 meters down to Jinek Bay, following the signs along the path.
Walking
If you are staying near Santal Bay, you can walk to Jinek Bay. From Santal Bay beach, head west along the coastline. The walk is approximately 1 km and offers beautiful views of the ocean. Follow the sandy path until you reach Jinek Bay, which will be clearly marked.
