Car
If you're driving from Poya, start by heading south on Route de la Vallée de la Tontouta (D1). Continue on this road for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route Sud (N3). Merge onto Route Sud (N3) and follow it for about 50 kilometers. Once you reach Nouméa, follow signs for Anse Vata. From Anse Vata, you will need to park your car near the marina. Parking fees may apply, typically around 500 CFP for a few hours. After parking, walk to the marina where you can catch a boat to Îlot Canard.
Public Transportation
To reach Iles des Canards using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Poya to Nouméa. Check the local bus schedules for the most accurate times, as they can change. The journey to Nouméa will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Nouméa, you will need to make your way to Anse Vata. From the bus terminal, you can take a local taxi or another bus to Anse Vata. Upon reaching Anse Vata, head to the marina where you can purchase a ticket for the boat to Îlot Canard. The boat fare is typically around 1,500 CFP round trip.

Once you are at Anse Vata Marina, look for the signs directing you to the boat service that goes to Îlot Canard. Boats usually leave every hour during the day, but it's advisable to check the schedule ahead of time. The boat ride takes about 15 minutes, and make sure to keep your ticket handy as you will need it for the return trip.
