Car
If you are driving from Nouméa, take Route Territoriale 1 (RT1) south towards Mont-Dore. Continue on RT1, passing through the towns of La Foa and Yaté. After Yaté, follow signs toward the south coast. Once you reach the town of Koumac, take the Route de la Baie de Kanumera, which will lead you directly to Kanumera Bay. The journey is approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic. Look for signs to Kanumera Bay as you approach the coast.
Public Transportation
To reach Kanumera Bay via public transportation, you can take a bus from Nouméa to Yaté. The bus service is operated by the local transport company, and schedules may vary, so it is advisable to check the timetable in advance. Once in Yaté, you will need to take a taxi or arrange for a shuttle service to Kanumera Bay, which is approximately a 20-minute ride from Yaté. Be sure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.
Taxi
If you are already in a nearby town, you can hire a taxi to take you directly to Kanumera Bay. Taxi services are available in most towns within South Province. Make sure to negotiate the fare in advance or ask the driver to use the meter. The cost can vary depending on your starting point, but expect to pay around 5000 to 10000 CFP (Pacific Franc) for a ride from Koumac to Kanumera Bay.
