From Exeter, head to the nearest bus stop located at the Exeter Town Hall on Front Street. Take the C&J bus service towards Portland, ME. Make sure to check the schedule for departure times. The bus ride will take approximately 45 minutes. You will want to get off at the Ogunquit stop. Once you arrive in Ogunquit, follow Main Street south until you reach Beach Street, then turn left. Marginal Way starts at the end of Beach Street.
Bicycle
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle in Exeter. Start at the Exeter Recreation Center on Court Street. Head towards the Exeter River and follow the bike path that runs along the river. Continue on the path toward Route 101 and follow signs towards Ogunquit. This route is approximately 10 miles and will take about an hour. Upon reaching Ogunquit, navigate to Main Street and head south until you reach Beach Street, then turn left to find the entrance to Marginal Way.
Walking
For those who enjoy long walks, you can start at the Exeter Town Square. Walk northeast on Epping Road towards Route 101, then follow Route 101 north towards Ogunquit. This is a lengthy walk of about 10 miles, so be prepared for a journey of approximately 3-4 hours. Once you arrive in Ogunquit, head south on Main Street, then turn left on Beach Street to access Marginal Way.
