If you're driving to Mount Washington from the Franconia Notch State Park Visitor Center, start by heading south on I-93 S. Take exit 40 for US-3 N toward Twin Mountain. Continue on US-3 N for about 12 miles until you reach the junction with NH-302 E. Turn left onto NH-302 E and follow it for approximately 8 miles. You will then see signs for Mount Washington. Follow the signs to the Mount Washington Auto Road, which will lead you directly to the peak. Be sure to check the weather conditions and road status before heading up.
