If you're traveling by car, start on the Appalachian Trail and find your way to the nearest major road. From the trail, make your way to Route 206. Head south on Route 206 until you reach the intersection with Route 80. Merge onto Route 80 East towards New York City. Continue on Route 80 for about 16 miles. Take exit 34B to merge onto Route 15 North. Continue on Route 15 for about 8 miles, then take the exit for Route 206 South. After approximately 4 miles, turn left onto East Shore Drive (County Road 521). Swartswood State Park will be on your left at 1091 E Shore Dr, Swartswood, NJ 07877.

If you are using public transportation, first take a train to the nearest station, which is the Andover station on the NJ Transit line. From the station, you will need to call a local taxi service or use a rideshare app like Uber or Lyft. The distance from Andover station to Swartswood State Park is approximately 11 miles. Make sure to check the schedule for NJ Transit trains to plan your trip accordingly. Taxi fares can vary, so expect to pay around $25-$35 for the ride to the park.

For those who may prefer biking, you can take a bike from the Appalachian Trail to Route 206. Bike along Route 206 south to Route 15 North. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic laws, as some parts of these roads may not have bike lanes. Once you reach the intersection of Route 15 and Route 206, continue on Route 15 North for 8 miles and then take the exit for Route 206 South. After about 4 miles, turn left onto East Shore Drive. Swartswood State Park will be on your left.
