Car
If you are driving, start by getting on I-80 W from your current location in Appalachian Trail. Follow I-80 W to US-46 W in Parsippany-Troy Hills. Merge onto US-46 W and then take the exit for I-287 S towards Morristown. Follow I-287 S and then merge onto I-78 W. Continue on I-78 W and take exit 29 for NJ-31 N towards Flemington. Stay on NJ-31 N and then turn right onto US-202 N. Follow US-202 N and then turn left onto Unnamed Rd in Columbia, NJ. Park at the designated parking area for Mt Tammany located at approximately 40.9690° N, -75.1119° W. Note that parking may incur a fee depending on the season.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, take a NJ Transit train to the Hackettstown station. From there, you can catch the NJ Transit bus route 880 towards Phillipsburg. Get off at the intersection of NJ-94 and US-46. From this point, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles along NJ-94 until you reach Unnamed Rd, where you can access the Mt Tammany trailhead. Make sure to check the NJ Transit schedule for bus and train times, as they may vary.
