    Getting There

    Car

    From the Appalachian Trail, head to the nearest major road and find your way to the Palisades Interstate Parkway (PIP). If you are in the northern section of the Appalachian Trail, take Route 17 South to reach the PIP. Follow the PIP South until you see the exit for Alpine, NJ. Take the exit and follow signs for Palisades Interstate Park. The park entrance is located at Alpine, NJ 07620.

    Public Transportation

    If you are not driving, you can take public transportation to reach Palisades Interstate Park. Start by taking a train from a nearby station on the NJ Transit line to Hoboken Terminal. From Hoboken, transfer to the NJ Transit Bus #156 or #154, which travels to Alpine, NJ. Get off at the nearest stop to Palisades Interstate Park, and follow the signs to the entrance. Be sure to check the NJ Transit schedule for bus and train timings to plan your trip accordingly.

    Bicycle

    For those who prefer biking, you can ride along the Hudson River Greenway, which connects to the Palisades Interstate Park. Start your ride at the northern end of the Greenway and head north towards the George Washington Bridge. Continue along the route until you reach the park entrance in Alpine, NJ. Ensure you have a bike lock for when you arrive at the park, as well as a helmet and proper biking gear.
