Car
If you are driving, start from the High Point State Park Main Entrance. Follow the signs for the High Point Monument. Once you reach the monument, continue on High Point Park Road and look for parking near the Appalachian Trail. You can park along the shoulder of the road, but be cautious as spaces are limited. After parking, walk towards the Appalachian Trail's entrance, which is marked with signs. Follow the trail until you reach the Appalachian Trail Boardwalk.
Public Transportation
If you're using public transportation, take a bus to the nearest station, which is located in Glenwood. From there, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to get to High Point State Park. Once you arrive at the park, follow the walking directions as mentioned for cars. Note that public transportation options may be limited, and it's advisable to check the bus timetable in advance.
Walking
If you are already within High Point State Park, locate the signage for the Appalachian Trail. The trailhead is generally accessible from the parking areas near the monument. Walk towards the trailhead and proceed along the marked path. The Appalachian Trail Boardwalk is a short walk from the trailhead, so ensure you have comfortable walking shoes. The path is well-maintained but may include some uneven sections.
