Getting There

• Bus

  From Paterson, walk to the nearest bus stop and take NJ Transit Bus 190 towards New York Port Authority. The bus will take you directly to New York City. Once you arrive at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, exit the terminal and walk towards 8th Avenue. At 42nd Street, catch the subway at the Times Square-42nd Street station and take the 1 train heading downtown towards South Ferry. Get off at the Rector Street station. From there, walk east on Rector Street until you reach Stone Street, then turn left. The Stone Street Tavern will be on your left at 52 Stone St.

• Train

  Head to the Paterson train station and take a NJ Transit train on the North Jersey Coast Line or the Raritan Valley Line towards New York Penn Station. Once you arrive at Penn Station, exit and walk to the 1 train subway entrance at 34th Street. Take the 1 train downtown towards South Ferry and get off at the Rector Street station. Walk east on Rector Street until you reach Stone Street, then turn left. You will find Stone Street Tavern at 52 Stone St on your left.

• Walking

  If you are in central Paterson, you can walk to the nearest bus stop or train station to catch a bus or train heading to New York City. However, if you prefer to walk the whole way, head southeast towards the Passaic River, then follow the river south until you reach the Hudson River waterfront. From there, you can follow the waterfront path towards Manhattan. After reaching Manhattan, navigate towards Stone Street, which is located in the Financial District. This is a long walk and may take several hours, so be prepared and wear comfortable shoes.
