From any location in Jersey City, make your way to the nearest PATH train station. The most popular stations are Journal Square or Exchange Place. If you're at Journal Square, take the PATH train towards World Trade Center. If you're at Exchange Place, take the PATH train towards 33rd Street. Once you arrive at the World Trade Center station, transfer to the 2 or 5 subway train towards Bronx Park East or Flatbush Avenue. Get off at the 180th Street station. From there, it's about a 10-minute walk to the Bronx Zoo.
