Getting There

• Car

  From North Jersey, take the Garden State Parkway (GSP) South. Stay on the GSP for approximately 70 miles. Take exit 63 for NJ-72 East toward Manahawkin. Continue on NJ-72 East for about 9 miles until it merges with Barnegat Boulevard. Follow Barnegat Boulevard until you reach the intersection with Broadway. Turn right onto Broadway. Barnegat Lighthouse State Park will be on your left at 208 Broadway, Barnegat Light, NJ 08006. Note: There is a parking fee of approximately $5.00.

• Public Transportation - Train and Bus

  Take NJ Transit train from North Jersey (e.g., from Secaucus Junction) to Long Branch Station. From Long Branch Station, transfer to the NJ Transit bus #137 towards Point Pleasant. Get off at the stop for Manahawkin. From there, transfer to NJ Transit bus #559 towards Barnegat Light. The bus will take you directly to Barnegat Light. The entire trip may take approximately 2-3 hours, and the cost will vary depending on the train and bus routes taken, generally around $10-15 total.

• Carpool or Rideshare

  Consider using rideshare services like Uber or Lyft for a convenient trip. Depending on your pick-up location in North Jersey, the fare to Barnegat Lighthouse State Park may range from $60 to $120 one way. This option provides a direct route without the need for parking fees.

• Bike

  If you're feeling adventurous and want to bike from North Jersey, you can take a train to a closer location and bike the remaining distance. For example, take the NJ Transit train to Point Pleasant, then bike along the scenic roads to Barnegat Light.
