Bus
From Paterson, head to the main bus terminal located at 100 Broadway. Take the NJ Transit Bus No. 11 towards New York Port Authority. The bus will take you directly into the city. Once you arrive at Port Authority, exit the terminal and walk towards 8th Avenue. From there, you can catch the subway.
Subway
After arriving at Port Authority, walk to the 42nd Street subway station. Take the A train towards Downtown and Brooklyn. Ride for about 3 stops and get off at the World Trade Center station. Once you exit the station, walk towards the 9/11 Memorial & Museum located at 180 Greenwich St, which is just a short 5-minute walk.
Train
From Paterson, head to the Paterson train station located at 1 Market Street. Take a NJ Transit train on the Main Line towards Hoboken. Change trains at Secaucus Junction and take a train on the Meadowlands Line towards New York Penn Station. Once you arrive at Penn Station, exit and walk to the 34th Street subway station. Take the A train downtown to the World Trade Center station. The 9/11 Memorial & Museum is a short walk from there.
Walking
If you are near the Great Falls in Paterson, you can walk to the Paterson train station. From there, follow the previous guidance for taking the train into New York. Alternatively, you can take a local bus to the bus terminal and then follow the bus instructions.
