Bus
From downtown Paterson, head to the nearest bus stop and take the NJ Transit bus #190 towards New York. The bus will take you to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. Once you arrive at the terminal, exit and walk to 8th Avenue. From there, catch the MTA subway train (A or C line) at 42nd Street for 2 stops towards Downtown Manhattan and disembark at 59th Street – Columbus Circle. Then, walk northeast on Central Park South towards Central Park until you reach the entrance near 59th Street and 6th Avenue. Enter Central Park and follow the paths to Belvedere Castle, which is located towards the middle of the park.
Train
Start at the Paterson Train Station and take a NJ Transit train on the North Jersey Coast Line towards New York Penn Station. Upon arrival at Penn Station, transfer to the MTA subway. Take the A train at 34th Street-Penn Station towards Inwood-207th Street and get off at 59th Street – Columbus Circle. From there, walk northeast on Central Park South, enter Central Park, and follow the paths to Belvedere Castle.
Walking
If you are close to the Great Falls National Historical Park, it is a scenic walk. Head south on McBride Avenue towards the Passaic River, then take the pedestrian bridge over the river. Continue walking towards the west until you reach the nearest bus stop on Broadway. From there, take the NJ Transit bus #190 towards New York, get off at Port Authority Bus Terminal, and then follow the subway instructions above or walk to Central Park.
Bicycle
If you'd like to bike, you can rent a bike in Paterson. Start on the Passaic Riverfront Park bike path. Follow the path north until you reach the nearest bike-friendly road leading to the George Washington Bridge. Cross the bridge and follow the signs leading into Manhattan. Once in Manhattan, navigate to Central Park by heading towards 59th Street and follow the park paths to Belvedere Castle.
