From Paterson, head to the nearest bus stop. Look for the NJ Transit bus #160, which will take you directly to New York City. Board the bus and remain on it until you reach the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. Once you arrive at the terminal, exit onto 42nd Street. Walk east until you reach 8th Avenue, then transfer to the subway.

Make your way to the Paterson Train Station. Purchase a ticket for the NJ Transit train heading to Hoboken or New York Penn Station. If you go to Hoboken, you can transfer to the PATH train towards World Trade Center, and then take the PATH to 33rd Street. From there, walk to Broadway and head south to reach Chinatown.
