Getting There

  • Bus

    From your current location in Paterson, walk to the nearest NJ Transit bus stop. Take the NJ Transit bus #190 towards New York Port Authority Bus Terminal. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, exit the terminal and head to 42nd Street. Walk east towards 8th Avenue and take the subway at 42nd Street/Times Square station. Take the A, C, or E trains downtown to 42nd Street/8th Avenue. From there, transfer to the C train and ride it to 34th Street/Penn Station. Finally, transfer to the 1 train and ride it to 50th Street. Exit the subway and walk west towards the Hudson River to reach Pier 86, where the Intrepid Museum is located.

  • Train

    From Paterson, walk to the Paterson Train Station. Board a NJ Transit train towards Hoboken Terminal. Once you arrive at Hoboken, transfer to the PATH train and take it to the World Trade Center station. From there, take the R or W train to 49th Street. After exiting, walk north towards 8th Avenue and then west to Pier 86, where the Intrepid Museum is situated. This route should take about an hour and a half.

  • Walking

    If you prefer to walk, begin at the center of Paterson and head towards Main Street. Follow Main Street south until you reach the intersection with Market Street. Turn left onto Market Street and continue until you reach the Passaic River. Follow the river south until you find the nearest NJ Transit bus stop, then take bus #190 to the Port Authority in New York. From there, follow the bus guidance as mentioned above to reach the Intrepid Museum.
