Getting There

Public Bus
From downtown Paterson, head to the nearest bus stop and take NJ Transit Bus 73 toward Jersey City. Confirm that the bus is heading to the Journal Square Transportation Center. After about 30 minutes, get off at the Journal Square stop. From there, transfer to the PATH train towards World Trade Center. Disembark at the Exchange Place station. Once you exit the station, walk east towards the waterfront. Continue walking until you reach the Liberty State Park entrance at 1 Audrey Zapp Dr. The park is approximately a 15-minute walk from the PATH station.

Walking
If you are near the Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park, you can also take a scenic walk. Head east along McBride Ave toward Broadway, then turn left onto Broadway. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Market St. Turn right and continue straight until you reach the NJ Transit Bus Terminal. From there, board NJ Transit Bus 73 heading towards Jersey City. Get off at the Journal Square Transportation Center, then follow the previous instructions to take the PATH train to Exchange Place and walk to Liberty State Park.

Bicycle
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike at one of the local bike rental shops. Start from the Great Falls and cycle south toward River St. Follow River St south and cross over to the Hudson River waterfront bike path. Continue along the waterfront, following the path until you reach Liberty State Park. The ride should take about 45 minutes, and it's a beautiful route along the river.
