Bus
From Paterson, head to the nearest NJ Transit bus stop. You can take the NJ Transit 190 bus towards New York Port Authority. The bus will take you across the George Washington Bridge and into Manhattan. Get off at the 40th St & 8th Ave stop. From there, walk to the 8th Ave subway station and take the A or C train downtown to 34th St. Then, transfer to the 6 train (green line) at 34th St-Herald Sq and ride it downtown to 23rd St. Exit the station and walk east along 23rd St until you reach Madison Ave. Finally, walk north on Madison Ave to arrive at Madison Square Park, located at 11 Madison Ave.

Train
From the Paterson train station, board the NJ Transit North Jersey Coast Line or the Main/Bergen County Line towards Hoboken. Once you arrive at Hoboken, transfer to the PATH train at Hoboken Terminal. Take the PATH train towards 33rd St and get off at the 33rd St station. From there, you can walk east along 33rd St until you reach Madison Ave. Turn right on Madison Ave and walk south; Madison Square Park will be on your left at 11 Madison Ave.
